Our
city and its nearest surroundings are an ideal place for all kinds of
activities, including amateur and competitive ones, extreme and
family and recreational ones.
In
the summer, next to walks and mountain trips, Zakopane is a mecca for
those who love running, cycling and roller-blading. The immediate
surroundings also provide ideal places for climbing, and when the
weather is bad, you can go under the roof and practice on the
climbing wall in the new hall of the Central Sports Center, which
makes it possible to, among other things, train in the competition
"Climbing on time" on two climbing routes 10 metres high.
Go
downhill
It
is in Zakopane that the biggest mountain runs take place throughout
the summer, both for short and for long distances. Those who love
mountains and extreme sports can also use a chairlift, which will
take them to the Harenda slope, where the downhill route is located.
It is secured with mattresses and labeled throughout the season.
Doing
exercise in the open air
Two
new exercise areas have recently been created in our city. The first
one is located on Ustupa, at the entrance to Zakopane. It is a place
of recreation with exercise equipment, swings for children, benches
and walking paths. Currently, this area is partially planted with
shrubs and vines to separate it with greenery from traffic. However,
at ul. Przewodniki Tatrzańskie, an exercise park with an area of
approx. 200 m2 was built. There are three thematic squares
here.
In
the first one, there are devices that can help to take care of your
physical condition, such as: a bicycle, an elliptical trainer or a
downhill skiing training device. The second square was designed for
weight training, while horizontal bars and a slackline are mounted in
the third one.
Zakopane
as a typical city for tourists
Tatra
trails will satisfy both Sunday walkers and real alpine tourists.
Montane valleys are full of magic. The most popular valleys are
Dolina Strążysk, Dolina Białego, Dolina Olczyska and Dolina za
Bramką - all of them are accessible from Droga pod Reglami, and
going through them does not take more than two or three hours. In the
Tatras there are also river valleys (stretching to the main ridge of
the Tatras), they are much longer, but with an equally suited for
leisure walks, where even the least skilled tourists can walk -
Kościeliska Valley and Chochołowska Valley, through which you can
also go by bike, just like through Droga pod Reglami.
Zakopane
is not only mountains, it is also water and it’s the best because
it’s geothermal, with healing and relaxation properties.
Undoubtedly,
the best place where entire families can entertain themselves is the
Zakopane Aqua Park, a facility focused on sports, recreation and
healing and entertainment. You can swim and relax there in the hot
waters from the inside of the earth and you can admire our beautiful
Tatra Mountains. Those who love sunbathing can also go to the bathing
water on Polana Szymoszkowa where there are slides and a beach
volleyball court.
