A small and unique art space in the very heart of Zakopane, right in front of Municipal Art Gallery. The building itself has a long history, changing its function and purpose. It was a flat, photo workshop, carpentry, pit stop and still it goes through transformation. Currently its an art gallery of Leszek Nagrabecki and Velt company. Not so long ago it also became an atelier of Zakopane sculptor, Maria Cukier.
Leszek Nagrabecki - born in 949 r. in Warsaw – polish film director, designer. Polish philology of Warsaw University and film direction in Łódź Film School graduate. Creator of documental movies: Jeszcze ja to ja (1975), Czego chcesz od nas Panie (1984), Zakopane - wiatr halny (1987) . Glass art, jewelry and plastic instalations designer. Since 1999 he runs author gallery Owca Cała.
Maria Cukier - born in 1986 in Warsaw, currently active in Zakopane. She's a Antoni Kenar Art School Complex in Zakopane and Warsaw Fine Arts Academy graduate, where she studied sculpture. She made her diploma in prof. Adam Myjak's atelier. She also studied in Academia di Belli Arti di Carrara in Italy, where she was fascinated with rock materials. After the studies she was in Spain for few years where she was conducting art projects. She won various prizes and merits in sculptor contests in Spain, Italy and France. Her works were exhibited on many individual and collective expositions in Spain, Poland, Italy, Great Britain and USA. She took part in international open air projects and sculptor symposia, her works are visible in many European cities. She runns a carpentry atelier for handicapped people in PSOUU in Zakopane.
