Strążyska Valley, one of montane
valleys of Tatra, as being easily accessible from Zakopane, is a
frequent walk destination of tourist of any age. We can get to its
outlet with our own transport (many parkings lots, with bus spots) or
use the public transport. Strążyska Valley is a perfect place for a
short, winter walk or ski ride.
On the valley entrance we must
approach a booth where we can buy Tatra National Park entry tickets.
Right behind the booth are TPN info boards. The trail leads through
flat terrain at first. After around 5 minutes we pass forester's
lodge on Młyniska clearing. Venturing further, we reach Jelinka
boulder region, from where it's not too far from Strążyska
Clearing. In front of us draws a pleasant, quite easy approach and
our eyes meet the enormous, 600 meters northern wall of Giewont. Our
trail turns right here, and through Grzybowiec Pass it runs further
into Giewont region. After a while, being greeted by a stone called
Sphinx, we enter the northern edge of Strążyska Clearing. Our red
trail turns right and, through Grzowiec Pass, goes into Giewont
region. In winter season (from december 1
st to may 15th)
its section from Grzybowiec Pass to Wyżnia Kondracka Pass is closed.
We however won't stay much longer on valley's bottom, and after black
signatures we direct ourselves to the bufet and wooden benches where
we can rest. If we wan't to extend our walk, we can go a little
further, where a short yellow trail starts, leading towards requently
visited waterfall of Siklawica.
We go back with the same way.
